Intrinsic Paths

Ever since taking 242 days to walk across the U.S. in 2010, moving on-foot has become my primary medicine and teacher. It informs all aspects of my creative work – pen drawing, writing, walking events, and storytelling with the Pedestrian Dignity project. Inspiration for most of my artwork comes from long walks I take throughout the year on rural, urban, and suburban roads, trails, and coastlines all over the world. I love the meditative aspects of stippling and primarily use .3, .1, and .05 technical pens. My book, WALK – Slow Down, Wake Up & Connect at 1-3 Miles Per Hour was released by North Atlantic Books in 2022 and I live in Poncha Springs, CO with my husband, Ben.
