Paint a Cow

Join local artist Patti Vincent while she uses oil paint to paint one of her favorite subjects, a Colorado cow. She has a few tricks that she will share to make you fall in love with her cow paintings or your cow paintings. The demonstration will start at 1pm with a brief discussion about supplies and suggestions on where to find the best cows for painting. Patti will stop when the cow comes home but feel free to leave before 4pm so you can get in one last bid on the mini masterpiece of your dreams.

Embracing Space

Grounded Dance Company presents ‘Embracing Space, a dance concert that embodies the concept of space and movement as an art. By exploring kinetic energy and how it can be used to create depth and dimension, ‘Embracing Space’ is a showing of manipulating areas around and within the dancers to create aesthetic lines and balance. Expect a varietal showcase of original choreography by Artistic Director Kelsey Franco and Grounded Dancers Lisa Bartley and Diana Shepherd.

March 13 & 14 2026 at 7pm (doors open at 6:20) and held at the SteamPlant Theater.

FALL of FREEDOM is calling for artists to host events nationwide on Friday-Saturday 21-22 November. In response, the Museum of Authenticity is hosting ART MATTERS: the Thrill of Mutiny, the Power of Community, a grassroots event designed to acknowledge the value of creative self-expression and to celebrate the role the arts play in social change.

Rock & Roll Revival: A Coletrain Music Academy Rock Sessions Showcase

This summer, CMA Rock Sessions will light up The Velveteen’s Courtyard in downtown Salida—an awesome local venue with a real stage and the perfect vibe for kids to get comfortable, creative, and confident performing live. The session will culminate with a final showcase featuring students and teachers Zack Kochetta of Leadville Cherokee and Airing of Grievances, and Brandon Katz of The Chaffee Experiment.

2nd Annual Salida Chalk Festival

Save the Date for the 2nd annual Salida Chalk Festival Saturday June 28! Artists transform downtown Salida into a giant outdoor gallery of colorful murals as artists create 6’ x 6’ temporary art works of chalk and pastel live during the festival. Apply as a Chalk artist! Selected artists receive stipend, lunch, artist T-shirt, 24 set of pastels. Presented by City of Salida, Arts & Culture Department Salida Creative District program and the Public Art Commission.
