Movie Night: Arthur the King & Travis Macy

The Salida Arts & Culture Community & Film Series at the SteamPlant Film proudly presents ARTHUR THE KING, based on a true story of adventure racer Mikael Lindnord (Michael Light played by Mark Wahlberg) and a very special presentation by longtime friend of Arthur’s owner, Salida professional endurance athlete Travis Macy! Thursday, May 8. Program begins at 6:30pm. Get inspired as Travis shares clips and explains the extraordinary world of adventure racing! From trekking, to biking, navigating and more, come and hear about this unique endurance sport and some important takeaways, followed by Q&A! Travis books will also be available at the event.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Based on an incredible true story, ARTHUR THE KING follows pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mikael Lindnord played by Mark Wahlberg), desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes (Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Ali Suliman) for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. As the team is pushed to their outer limits of endurance in the race, a scrappy street dog dubbed Arthur comes along for the ride, forging an unbreakable bond, and redefining what victory, loyalty and friendship truly means.
