Cate Whittemore, MFA, is an American contemporary fine artist, illustrator and educator, IATSE union set painter and set designer for theater, film and TV. Motivated by the insights that come from creativity, her process is always evolving, exploring the necessities, instability and fluid logic of paint – how experiments and mistakes can externalize and transform meaning. In 2011 she was commissioned by the International Campaign for Tibet to create a poster @ religious freedom, featuring a sanctioned portrait of the Dalai Lama. She maintains a full-time painting studio, teaches locally and on retreat since 2015 in Skyros, Greece, www.skyros.com. Her work is available @ ROCK PAPER SCISSORS in Buena Vista and Salida, CO.
