April Edwards is a multimedia artist living and working in Salida, Colorado. Inspired by my wonderings, nature, light, shadow, and the interconnectedness of all things, I transform what I see and feel into layers of color, line, texture, and transparency. The experi-ence/ment of creating and the freedom to play is my greatest motivation.
My practice spans photography, digital painting, printmaking, papermaking, water-marbling, and watercolor on canvas, paper, silk, wood panel, handmade ceramics, and found materials. I’m drawn to creating work that invites viewers to look closer—to notice the intricate details and quiet nuances often overlooked in both art and life.
As a wife and mother of four, creating art is my way of living authentically and sharing the joy of making with others. Through my art and community connections, I strive to live a life by design, not by default.
