Join us for POETRY & PAINT, a sip and paint, reflection and art making workshop in collaboration with Salida Regional Library and the Salida Creative District ![]()

In partnership with Salida Regional Library’s “One Book Salida – Community Read,” Salida Arts & Culture presents POETRY & PAINT, a poetry, jazz, and abstract-inspired paint and mixed medium class guided by Tina Gramann. Reflecting on themes such as race, injustice, freedom, identity, corruption, etc., from the 2024 community read selection “They Can’t Take Your Name” by Robert Justice, we will seek inspiration from the poetry of Langston Hughes and the music of jazz and create large scale pieces on paper. Symbols, images, collage, pastels, and paint come together to create pieces unique to each participant. Friday, April 26 at the Salida Scout Hut. Dress for painting. Mature themes, workshop geared for adults. Free. A cash bar will be available. Open to the public but registration required. To register, contact Salida Regional Library at (719) 539-4826.
